I’m chuffed to be the new Prose Editor for Westerly Magazine, taking over from the lovely Susan Midalia. My work will commence with Issue 68.1 (June/July 2023). In this role, I’ll be supporting the Westerly team by reading de-identified short fiction and creative non-fiction submissions. For each issue, I’ll present a longlist and shortlist to the team, who will then select pieces for publication and work with the relevant writers to edit those pieces.
Westerly has a focus on writing from WA but is also open to submissions from the rest of Australia and overseas (Asia in particular). If you haven’t thought of submitting to Westerly before, give it a whirl. I’m looking forward to reading some interesting work!
