If you’re in Sydney on Thursday evening, come and check out this Subbed In x NSWWC event. I’ll be presenting a fun new Kanganoulipo project put together by Miles Franklin-shortlisted author Ryan O’Neill (Their Brilliant Careers), Jane Rawson (From the Wreck), Elizabeth Tan (Rubik) and illustrator Jeffrey D. Phillips.

Ever thought you’d like to write what you don’t know? To tell, not show? To go tell Shakespeare to take a hike and make way for something else in the syllabus? Subbed In and NSW Writers’ Centre are getting together some of their favorite wordsmiths to flip the tables on everything you’ve been taught about literary propriety. Our readers are ready to cast off the shackles of bookish father figures and canonical convention – but not before having some fun with them. Featuring Julie Koh, Emily Crocker, Anna Westbrook, Eda Gunaydin, Ellen O’Brien and more. All this in the spirit of launching the new NSW Writers’ Centre July-December course program.
