A speech I gave at the Emerging Writers’ Festival program launch last night in Melbourne. I was asked to talk about what fuels my writing, no matter the obstacles – so I reflected on that time I may have killed another writer. This continues a Kanganoulipo-related story I began on the Meanjin blog.

I’m writing the libretto for Blush Opera’s new opera, Chop Chef, which satirises reality TV cooking shows. Here are some highlights from a recent workshop at City Recital Hall where we tested the first fifteen minutes. The workshop was made possible by Omega Ensemble and the New Music Network Inc.
