The Melbourne launch of The Sleepers Almanac X was last Thursday at Bella Union, Trades Hall. It was a fantastic night.
My contribution to this final Almanac is a story called ‘The Fat Girl in History’, which will also appear in my short story collection to be published next year by UQP. Consider it a bit of a sneak peek.
I’m very happy to be in this Almanac alongside so many incredible writers. I’m also very sad to see the Almanac being laid to rest after a decade of nurturing the careers of so many Australian writers. It’s how I got a proper start in the industry – Zoe and Lou first published my work in No. 7 and have included my fiction in each Almanac since. They are amazing publishers.
